If so, what are they? Where do they come from? Where are they going?

What about when Saul talked to Sammuel and Jesus talked to Moses?

Jesus' disciples thought he was a ghost when he walked on water and when he ressurected, but he didn't tell them there were no such things...he just said he was flesh and bone.

Ghosts as disembodied souls wandering around looking for their "place" - no. The scripture references you mentioned - God in His sovereignty allowed Saul to speak to Samuel one last time. If you notice - the "witch" screamed when she saw him (even she didn't believe herself). The mount of transfiguration was the other reference you made. Jesus did speak to Moses and Elijah but again by Gods sovereign choice. These are special exceptions that God chose to make. In general the dead do not communicate with the living. Look at the story of the rich man in hell who wanted to come back to this life to warn his brothers. He was denied. And why? Because they would not believe what their eyes saw. Believing does not come from seeing but from hearing. If you can not believe the Words then you will not believe your eyes.

No, Christians do not believe in ghosts, or in communicating with the dead.
In fact, there are no such things as ghosts for the Bible tells us that the dead cannot hear, see, or feel anything--"Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest." Ecclesiastes 9:10
"His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish." Psalm 146:4
Satan and his demons like to scare people. Sometimes they pretend to be people who have died. They may even imitate voices of those who have died. In this way the demons fool many into believing that dead people are alive and can talk with the living. Yes, the demons cause many people to believe in ghosts.
The Bible warns that Satan and his demons are intent on misleading mankind. They take advantage of mankind’s despair and hopelessness to offer attractive, but false, solutions. (2 Corinthians 11:14) Hence, the Bible warning: “In later periods of time some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to misleading inspired utterances and teachings of demons.”—1 Timothy 4:1.
Christians need to listen to what the Bible really teaches about the dead. If they do, then they will not believe in ghosts, but will realize just how powerful Satan is in his quest to deceive us.

That would depend on how you define a "ghost". If you are referring to the spirit that stays and haunts, then no, true Christians do not believe in them.

However, if you are just referring to the spirits of the dead who are allowed by God to come and warn us about some impending danger or to comfort us or guide us, then yes we do.

no, I believe in angels and demons and spiritual beings created by god. today if someone says i see a ghost, they are either crazy or they are seeing a demon. the bible says that the undead cannot communicate with the living here. the spiritual world is very real but dont get caught up in the foolish ghost of some little girl that died 100 years ago that is wandering around and we need to send her home stuff. the bible is clear on where people go when they die and that it is not possible.

If by ghosts you mean the spirits of dead people then the answer is no.....I do believe that people see spirits but the spirits that they are seeing are demonic....familiar spirits that are meant to deceive you into believing its the spirit of a dead person...the bible makes it clear that once we leave this world we are immediately with the Lord, but if the familiar spirits can convince you otherwise then maybe what the bible says isn't true.....DON'T BELIEVE IT!!....The bible is never wrong!
