Most boxed mixes usually also have instructions for making cupcakes, too. Generally speaking, though, you can usually use the same recipe. The only alteration would be to adjust the baking time down. I would suggest cutting the time in half, and from that point checking the cupcakes with a toothpick. Because they are so much smaller than regular cakes, they will bake faster. This is probably because the heat of the metal muffin/cupcake pans can penetrate to the core of the cupcake faster than it would a larger regular cake.

Yes you can. It is the best and easiest way. Almost every cake mix has directions on how to make cupcakes from cake mix. Some even have directions on how to make cookies from cake mix. Cookies are very easy also and turn out really good.

On the back of the cake mix box it will tell you what baking pans you can use and in most cases you can use the mix for cupcakes. Go check it out.

Sure! In fact, there are usually instructions on the box as to how many cupcakes it will make and how long to bake them. Usually a cake mix makes 24 cupcakes.....

Cake mix makes great cupcakes. It's the exact same mix, but the baking time is shorter because the 'cake' is smaller in size.

Funny you should ask my daughter and her friend once went to the grocery store looking for "cup cake Mix" and could not find any. So later I told them to buy any "Cake Mix" and follow the directions on the back for making cupcakes.

yes you can use cake mix. They came out horrible compared to the store bought cupcakes though. If you DO make them from cake mix though, I recomend you use betty crocker cake mix. If you want homade cupcakes, go to foodnetwork.com and search "cupcakes". You will probably get better cupcakes there. Good Luck!
