Cushings Disease & thyroid problems are 2 of many, many possibilties that cause a dog to go bald. Others include: allergies, mange, etc. which can cause temporary baldness (of course with itching), and genetics causes most Blue Dobermans to go bald.

No, if you mean something like "male pattern baldness". If a dog has bald patches, it's a sign that something's wrong-like hypothyroidism or cushing's disease or mange. Bald dogs need to be seen by a vet and tests need to be done to find out why, 'cause it ain't normal. (aside from the rare hairless breeds like the Chinese Crested, of course)

If your dog is suffering from hair loss, it is suffering from some sort of malady. Dermatitis, mange, fleas, ringworm, allergies, the list goes on and on. Take it from this veterinary technician. Get it checked out, some problems can be transferred to humans, YUK!

Yes they can, but it can also be an allergic reaction or a virus/bacteria infecting them.

I'd take them to your vet to see which it is. My lab had severe allergies and changing his food to Nutro Natural Lamb and Rice made all the difference in the world. All hair grew back and he stopped itching leaving him with a beautiful shinny coat.

many human beings are attracted to bald men (and dogs). i imagine you should bare your head proudly. you may also get a lab, keep each and each and every of the hair from the shedding and make your self an similar "coat" so that you may want to communicate.

if your dog has bald spots they're probably "hot spots" from scratching fleas. take your dog to the vet and get him some flea treatment.
