well, i own a shop and i see people buying them with that much on them and more ,it really all depends on the vehicle and if it was taken care of 105 isn't bad mileage ,especially on the newer cars if it was taken care of ,depending on the car you should get a lot more good driving out of it,as a rule i usually wont buy anything over 150 thousand miles but your probably going to get another hundred thousand out of that one real easy ,if you take care of it,any car will give good service as long as it stays maintained well just ,you will be doing some repairs on it from time to time, that's normal ,but it should last you a while, good luck ,i hope this help,s.

If it's a 2006 model with that mileage, that would be very very bad. So it depends. Mileage is just one indicator of worth of a vehicle. Of course the higher the mileage the less life the engine would have left, but in deciding between 2 or the same vintage where one was well maintained and the other wasn't you would pick the better maintained one even if the mileage were higher.

The average life of a vehicle is 10 years. So you would want something newer than a 1997 for the most part. And don't forget to have your mechanic take a look before you commit to the vehicle.

Depends on the make, model, price, location (100k in Arizona is better than 100k in San Francisco), type of driver. (The last two can usually be accounted for by condition)

For most domestic models prior to the last few years, no, it's not good. For most Japanese and European models, it's not bad, but there's probably a lot of scheduled maintenance due if it hasn't already been done, and you're going to see more stuff break from this point.

A good way to check is to look at http://www.carsurvey.org and look for the make, model, and year you are considering. Look at the reports on there and see at what mileage things start really going south. For example, mid 90s Saturns saw increased problems at two points: 70k and 120k.

There is no one magic number for all makes and models of cars, though 100,000 is a big psychological barrier for a lot of people. (As seen in the other posts)

Depends on the make of the car, and how well it was taken care of, and of couse, are you going to drive it long distances?
Yes, its taking a chance, and the price should be low.
If its a good deal, have some one check it out, and if oked...
and you are going to use it for just around you area....buy it.
My old cadillac had over 225,000 miles on it, and ran well.
However I got it in 1969, and 8 years later, my husband sold it...
still running good! and purchase a new car for me.
I would have rather had my 69 Cadillac.
Good luck.

over 100,00 miles is bad. But this, of course depends on how much you're paying for it.

So many mechanical issues can come up with a car at that mileage.

Depends on what year you are buying.

Average milage is 10000-12000 miles per year.

If you are buying a '97 or older, then that's fine. If you are buying a newer than that, it's probably too much.

that develop into authentic interior the former days, no longer a lot anymore. I have a ninety 8 truck with 230,000 miles on it and nevertheless runs superb. the precise make and form does come into play although. the way it develop into maintained has plenty to do with it to, no matter if typically a automobile that seems sparkling and nicely maintained is. my truck develop into dealt with and see above.

well.. it just depends on the year and how well it was maintained. but personally, i wudnt buy anything over 80k+ miles even if the year was like 1991... so yea, try to look for anything lower than 100k miles
