I remember when I first heard about born again christians. I was a christian at the time and my reaction was kinda like 'OK, so this is a way for some christians to feel they are better than other christians.'

I find myself thinking the same thing when I see people typing Jeshua or Yahweh or whatever. Am I alone in thinking this?

...uh.

"Except a man be born again, he cannot enter the kingdom of God."

-Jesus.

It's not a 'higher class' of Christian. The label "born again" has been given a bad name. A good example of what modern culture views as 'born again' are the 'holier than thou' people--like the Jesus' day pharisees.

It's a real Christian.

It's a personal choice; an expierience.

No one is born a Christian, nor can anyone be forced or indoctrinated into being a true Christian.

To be honest..

I'm starting to think you were never saved in the first place.

You can grow up in Church and know all about Jesus--and yet, not know him personally. (that's how I lived until I was truly saved at 15, at a different chruch)

That's the difference between 'churchanity' and Christianity.

Well, the only thing worse than a christian is a born again christian. Remember, born again christians think they are better than everyone else, henceforth, they will use words that are not often used. Even if it is to make only themselves feel superior.

No. If you are a Christian then you are born again as well, aren't you?

John 3:3
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

If so then we are all of the same family of Christ and stand to inherit the kingdom of God.

Matthew 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

there is nothing wrong with people using old terms to describe god. if a person wants to be prideful they will be prideful regardless. i always say we need to quit looking at people and look at ourselves and look to god. who knows maybe they are just immature and use it as a badge to look intelligent but we just need to pray for god to guide them. i notice you say you "were" a christian. wont you come back friend give it another chance, maybe you werent ready at that time, it took me years of trying other ways until i became a believer and not just the average "sure i am a christian" but i actually applied the principles of scripture with trust and sincerity in my heart. jesus is still the way friend.

You are quite alone.

But I will admit there are few that play one up man ship.
But it is so obvious to God's elect that they don't take it too seriously.
Listen, there a long list of reasons not to trust mankind.
Is this a bad reflection on God's Word?
No.
Not if you study and check out this man or what anybody says by documenting in His Word.

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

The word "again" (anothen) in Greek means "from above", so born from above.

John 3:4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

We all are born of the flesh and water, the womb. You must be born from above or the Spirit. God's Word is His Spirit. I pray that helps you. Sow to your spirit by studying His Word which is God's Spirit.

KEEP MY WORDS
John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

NOTICE; WE will come, make OUR abode with him.

Why not let all Christians use whatever terminology they find best and leave the criticism out. Perhaps we could all learn a little more that way.

There are so many Gods that using the term God is ambiguous. I just use Yahweh, or Jehovah to pinpoint one God, such as if I wanted to talk about Odin I would say Odin instead of God.

I am not Christian, nor am I Jewish... but I use the word YHVH ... but I am also quite arrogant... so maybe you are talking about me as well...? I don't care if you are... I know who I am...
