I want to give my son the desktop and don't want info lost. The desktop has only a floppy disk drive.

You probably know that it will take a long time and fill several disks if you copy from hard drive to floppy but that would be the cheapest way. A faster but more expensive way would be to buy an external hard drive or maybe a zip drive(and disks) to copy to. A third way would be to upload the pics to the Internet then download to your new computer.
For any of these methods use MS File explorer and search your drive for *.jpg so you can get a nice list of pic files. I assume you didn't save pic files as BMP or TIF but you could search for those also.

If you have no CD write drive and the floppies are to small, you could buy an external cheap hard drive that uses the USB plug ins. Another way would be to put them into a zip folder and if you have a friend close by that has a CD burner, e-mail them to him and have him burn them to CD for you. Myself, I would go for the external hard drive as you can use it with another computer for more disk storage when you get one.
