Remember that Christianity is the only religion of the three Abrahamic ones (along with Judaism and Islam) that was spread by force. Clovis forced the Arians to become trinitarians. Charlemagne gave only two options: Either to be baptized or to die. The Crusaders were a continuation of the Christian concept of conversion by force. Till now, many people are forced into Christianity.
Again, true Christians have no respect to anyone other than themselves; not even to other Christians. The Catholics and Orthodox are very harsh bigots. Protestants are more tolerant; yet are very materialiatic.
Remember that the Crusaders were the ancestors of the colonials; another very harsh people. However, the Muslims were strong enough to defeat and eliminate the Crusaders; unlike the poor Native Americans and Australian Aboriginies. In fact, the Muslims counter-attacked, not only liberating all of the Syrian coast, but even invading Europe from the East and South.
This is why most Christians hate Muslims...because they knew that Muslims were stronger.

It wasn't done by God, but by the church. It was totally about political and financial gains for both the church and the governments that supported the church by sending troops. The rulers sent soldiers and the church repaid them in lands, trade routes and booty. They just told people it was to return the Holy Land to right full rulers so they would go along with it. As for the raping that has been a long standing spoil of war for the soldiers because by raping the women some will get pregnant and then the area will become quickly populated by the conquering forces.
And in truth the Muslims and Christians were getting along. In fact the Muslim religion was the most tolerant religion at the time. They may have branched out into the Christian world, but the Church wasn't trying to defend the North African nations, they let those fall without a fight. They only cared about the Holy Land which has some of the most prosperous trade routes in history, including the Silk Road.
As for it being evil, who are you to judge another's beliefs? All religions have at some point in time created chaos and genocides some where in this world. Just look at the Inquisition and the atrocities perpetuated in the name of God in Ireland and Scotland. The church made up lies about an entire race of people to try and gain control over the lands and they did the same to the Muslims. And think about this the Christian religion is the only where you are charged by God to recuit as many people as you can to the religion. It's also the only religion that actively refutes most scientific facts if they don't match up with the Bible. That's why it's really banned in most Asian and Muslim countries.

The Muslims had been warring against the mid-eastern Christians until the pope asked western Christians to help to repel the forces of the Muslims.
From:
http://www.crisismagazine.com/april2002/cover.htm
you can read;
With enormous energy, the warriors of Islam struck out against the Christians shortly after Mohammed’s death. They were extremely successful. Palestine, Syria, and Egypt—once the most heavily Christian areas in the world—quickly succumbed. By the eighth century, Muslim armies had conquered all of Christian North Africa and Spain. In the eleventh century, the Seljuk Turks conquered Asia Minor (modern Turkey), which had been Christian since the time of St. Paul. The old Roman Empire, known to modern historians as the Byzantine Empire, was reduced to little more than Greece. In desperation, the emperor in Constantinople sent word to the Christians of western Europe asking them to aid their brothers and sisters in the East.
I think a lot of people would like to make it sound as though the Christians waged war against the Muslims for no cause.
That appears to be far from the real truth.
It amazes me that young people born one thousand years after the Crusades began, think they know the whole truth about the Crusades.
I just want everyone to know I took no part in the Crusades.

What you are describing are not the acts of God, or even the Christian religion. They are the acts of men.
People have been killing in the name of religion for thousands of years. Other than beliefs like the Incas, involving human sacrifice, religion is not the cause of all these deaths.
There are fanatics in the Middle East today, including suicide bombers. Their actions should not be attributed to the vast majority of Muslims who are peacful and tolerant. The actions of the Crusaders are not the actions of the typical Christian.
It all boils down to personal responsibility, something that people seem to shun.

no.
For the most part it was a 1) combination of political control and economic greed and 2) people acting sincerely but were sincerely wrong
Face it public enemy number 1 around then, believe it or not, in the church were people who translated the Bible into something people could read and even holding up a BIble in English in England at one time was literally signing your death warrent... "if they would burn the Bible they would burn Christ" Tyndale rightly said of those times...the traditions of man ruled the church in those years more than people realize
You need to be very careful you are really following God and not following 'the crowd" even if the crowd looks really religious

The Crusaders are dead and weren't listening to God as Hitler wasn't led of god. Why don't you be concerned about present real threats instead of trying to denounce God.

First of all the Crusaders were working for the "Church" the catholic church. The Church wanted power plain and simple. they tortured people who basically wouldn't commit to their power struggle. God had nothing to do with it. They used the name of God to gain strength and to scare others to submit to their will.. if they did not they were tortured.
The Muslims and Christians lived together peacefully until the Church got their claws into it. Don't associate the Catholic Church with Christians it's two separate entities.
