We had an "issue" with this girl and him about a year ago when they chattted on instant message and reminisced not only how they felt about each other in the past, but how beautiful he thought she looked last time he saw her. We had seen her at a club out in NY and that's the last time they saw each other. I didn't know until later that they had dated each other for a summer in high school, because he said he thought it would make me feel uncomfortable at that moment if I knew. They're relationship had always been very flirty in the past. He tells me they never talk, he just texts her every year to say happy birthday. And it just worries me...am I overreacting here?

I went through the same thing and wondered if I sould be worried, indeed I should have been. He started to treat me like I was second and eventually became a walking a**.....I left him, that's what he wanted in the first place. I wouldn't stay with him honey, he has no business talking to another girl like that.

Wishing her a happy birthday every year should be no problem. If they had been together for several years then split. I wish my ex- boyfriend of 7 yrs happy birthday. We were very close friends besides being a couple. But I would not email and/or call and tell him how much I reminsce about the past.
Especially being in a relationship. That would hurt my partner, now my husband.

I would NOT worry about it. If he is moving on to you, then they are probably nothing more than friends. See, sometimes, once you date one, and you two realize you aren't sexually attracted, more just friend attracted, then you become best friends. Because normally, they know more than ALOT of people do about you, so it is easier to talk to them when you need someone to help you through a predicament.

If you really trust him then you shouldn't worry bout anythinga nd if he's not like some guys who just plays with their girls then theres no need to worry... He's just being friendly that's all, it's bad to have a grudge on something or someone...

If all he's doing now is texting her on her birthday, you have nothing to worry about.

I think your boyfriend has some issues. Tell him to move on already!!! 7yrs and still texting her?! If he doesn't then I suggest leaving him.

I would be really concerned. Me and boyfriend had this problem and we are still together, i believe only because we talked about it tho. You really need to confront him about this. If he really loves you he will understand.

Yup. If you can count for all his time then what's the problem? At least he's not trying to hide it from you...
