Are you serious? Hon, brands aren't going to help you look hot, your skiing will totally expose you for a beginner. Don't sweat it, and DON'T go out and buy tons of new ski gear you will use once. My advice to all beginners: know where you are skiing. If you are skiing in the east, be prepared for nasty conditions, including cold, bad weather, etc. Out west you need to be prepared for cold. Check out the resort you have lined up. Also, make sure you have lessons scheduled. You won't look hot if you have absolutely no idea what you are doing, and worse, you'll look even stupider if you go and hurt yourself because you didn't understand or know what to do and have to spend the rest of the day in the emergency room. As for dress, there isn't a real look for skiers right now. You want a basic windproof jacket, wind proof pants and a good hat that also blocks wind. See about renting goggles at the resort. And honestly, you will not enjoy your trip if you spend the whole time trying to look your best. I suffer from bad helmet hair and my friends tease me about it when I get up on the podium and I'm running my fingers through my hair, trying to give it more life. Give it up, and have fun with your friends. Additional: What was I thinking, renting goggles? My mistake, you can't rent goggles at a ski resort, but I have been places where you can rent almost all of your other clothing, including helmets. Not that I reccomend it (wearing someone else's clothes gives me the heeby-jeebies) but renting a helmet is definately a smart decision.

Well, nude skiing is in these days, but if doesn't tickle your fancy then I suggest warm comfortable clothe made from cortex with a fur like linning. Cortex allows your skin to breath and keeps you cool when your hot and warm when your cold. Beneath that, just wear a t-shirt and light woolen jumper. Dont forget this thick woolie socks.

Well depends on the weather for the day, I snowboard and I usually wear a long sleeve shirt, and a hoodie, gloves, beanie, snowpants and thick socks. All depeneds though, I'm usually hot no matter what weather I'm in, so i tend to dress light.

Underarmor is the best. Is light enough to allow for mobility and it keeps you pretty warm. Once your skiing, it tends to get warm real quick so you dont want to be overly dressed. Whatever you do, make sure you are waterproof.

I suggest you should have put this under 'winter sports'. but wear lots of layers. Also, get a helmet! It keeps your ears WAY warmer than a hat, plus if you fall back it will protect you. Also, get good fuzzy socks, and a neckwarmer is a MUST.
