My lab LOVES Bitter Apple - I tried it, but found that anything it was sprayed on was even more attractive to him (He also eats apples off the ground in the backyard when they fall off the tree...).

Try Tabasco instead - Just a little dab on anything you don't want him to chew - ONE taste and the dog will never touch the item again!

Any pet department in any store will have one or more brands. There are brands made with organic natural ingredients and some made with man-made chemicals. I've found my dogs and cats ignore the natural stuff (no effect) but are repelled by the man-made stuff. It's weak enough that it probably will not harm the little critters. Prices $3-6 for 8 ounces. Good luck.

i think you can get it at a pet store. ask a vet. the spray is actully a nasty tasting thing that is like sour apples or somthing. if you have a small dog though, spraying it too much will make the dog gag. the spray is also used for dogs who chase their tails. it doesn't cost that much, but use it wisely.

It's called Bitter Apple. You can use it for the problem you're having, and it's also good for spraying on plants if your cat eats them. Try PetSmart, or Petco, or even your vet.

bitter apple,,,,, any and all petstores,,,,, however,,, lots of dogs like it.. get a basket or bucket,,,,, fill it with tennis balls, dog toys,, any and all things that you allow your dog to chew on...... keep this basket where the dog can get to it.. when he chews on something he shouldn't,,,, direct him to his toy box... this will only take a day or so and he will not be chewing your things,,,, it works trust me,,,,,,,,,,,, training is much better than a spray....

except you've seen blood or yellow mucous, you could exhibit the anal glands your self. be constructive you get you 2 pair of surgical gloves or similar form gloves. I double glove to circumvent unintentional compromise of the the gloves. Take you canines outside. shop the canines's rear pointed far flung from you and absolutely everyone else. Palpate the gland section close to the anus. dogs frequently tighten the anus once you contact them. The tightening may be functional you hit upon the glands. gently yet firmly squeeze the glands between you thumb and commonplace finger. The nasty pungent stuff will move out. Your canines would whimper somewhat, notwithstanding the canines will be effective. My vet confirmed us the thanks to objective this little technique, and that i have effectively finished this many situations with our dogs. The vet suggested he ought to fairly coach us the thanks to do it than to do it himself, so we were expressing the anal glands ourselves each and every for the reason that.
