No. Rice can only make you fat if you are eating huge amounts of it. I eat 1 cup of rice twice a day with chicken and vegetables and I am fine. I try to mix the rice with brown rice as often as possible though. It's healthier for you and contains more nutrients that your body needs.

depends on your metabolism. some people simply do not digest carbs well regardless if it is brown or white rice or potato or whatever. How does your body handle carbs? If you are like the average person, rice will be fine and brown rice is better than white rice. If you can have it straight without gravies, or butter, or sauces that is the best way

If you eat a lot of it it may add some inches to your waistline. Eat it in moderation and stick to brown rice. Think about the Asian culture and how much rice they eat. You don't see many overweight Asians do ya?

Any food can cause weight gain. Portion control is important. I cup of cooked rice with meals wont hurt you.
