You can runaway at any age but I recommend you either stay home or contact social services.

Technically, you can be a runaway at any age but you should at least be able to take care of yourself and get a job. Danger lurks and evil preys on runaways. I think your best bet is trying to work out your situation wherever you are. Talk to counselors, priests, rabbis, your parents, someone. Finish school and get a good job...you'll stand a better chance for happiness in the long run. By running away and not facing your problems head on, you're giving up on yourself. Do you really want to do that? Be a loser? Wouldn't it be more fun to stick it out and make a success of yourself and then you can snub all the jerks who are giving you a hard time now? Sure, it'll take time and some of that time will be painful, but it's a LOT better than ending up dead in an alley somewhere. If someone's abusing you, you can get help. Either way, running away is not your answer. Best of luck.

as long as you're under 18 and you leave home you're considered a runnaway. NY huh? That's hard for an adult much less a minor. Are you sure running away is the answer? what are you running from?

certainly over 18 as any younger and you would be in grave danger in NY alone.

yes, as they said, better to own up to your responsibilities and conform,, otherwise living in the streets as a vagabond , will offer no comfort.
