how does the dog behave is he a angel or demon what does he look like these are all factors that go into making up a dog name without knowing the dogs personality or appearance or even breed I couldnt even begin to pick names that would suit it. The name should be something you like or personal to you. I like lord of the rings and wanted to call my dog pippen but because she is a girl it was adjusted to pippa.
Add some more info and I will get you some names.

Any Star Trek Fans out there might like the irony of "Puss Cat"......
LOL,....

Anything you are willing to call out in the local park at 3 am should be OK, (NIgel... NIGEL...... come here Nigel...... :) )
no offence to anyone named Nigel but you can see the problem, (also insert Fluffy, Tinkles and mr Rainbow...:) )
PS.There are book to help you name animals just like the books to help you name babies.

Some I like are
Lucky(obvious)
Defer (D for Dog)
Glayver ( favourite drink, works well if you have 2 brandy and soda etc
Jack ( sturdy name)and his brother Daniel :)
Good luck..
