Chamomile tea works wonders on the skin. Tell ehr to boil some and then let it cool down. In the shower or next to a towel, tell her to rub it on her legs. If it irritates then tell her to wash it off but it shouldn't. Worked wonder's for my BFF!

You can buy several emollient creams specifically for dry skin conditions like eczema. A particularly good one is Oilatum bath emollient. You add a small amount to your bathwater and it creates a very rich, moisturising cream. "50-50" cream and E-45 are also good for relieving the dryness and itching. Some people have had great results with Bio Oil, which is available from most chemists. Ultimately, one of the best things for a bad flare-up is a steroid cream. These are available from your GP and are the best thing if she's really miserable.
Tell your friend to avoid man-made fibres and stick to cotton clothes that won't irritate her legs. Avoid very hot baths and soaps that will dry out her skin even further. Flaky skin can be gently exfoliated away with a soft flannel twice a week. If she's game to try a few alternative remedies I have heard that bathing in porridge oats can be a great relief. Eczema can be triggered by several allergens including nickel, pollen and certain foods. Your friend may benefit from an allergy test in the future so as to avoid any triggers she has been exposed to.
I sincerely hope she gets better soon. I had a bad flare-up myself a few years ago - all over my face. I looked like a plague victim. Thankfully it hasn't happened again, so there's always hope!

Not really, just keep the areas moistened. I have had very bad eczema all my life up untill 2 years ago, im nearly 28.I was given a new ointment by the dermatologist and its results have been amazing, its a non steroid cream so there's no need to worry about skin thinning. Its called Protopic ointment and it comes in 2 different strengths..I would suggest asking the dermatologist if this ointment is suitable for you. The only downside its as its an ointment it is rather Oliy but well worth it. i sympathise with you, its a horrible condition to have, best of luck!

My little boy had eczema on his cheeks. I was not sure what method to use but I didn't want to make my boy go through any surgery treatments at this young age. Some suggested a plastic surgeon since it was in a very visible location but our family doctor recommend this natural guide.

Try Terra cotril spray. You can only get it on prescription but it is good. I had eczema for years when I was younger but this stuff cured it within weeks.

The skin condition is awful and can be very painfull and upsetting, It is a form of dry skin so sometimes baby oil gently rubbed in or used in a bath can help relieve the dryness and itching. Baby oil is also very safe to use as it does not contain harmfull perfumes or additives. Try it I would like to know if you found this usefull. My partner has a similar skin condition and it works for him. no medication required. good luck

You can be allergic to anything, including some of the bases used for the steroid creams. Old fashioned preparations such as potassium permanganate soaks can calm thing down, but ultimately moisturisers, steroids and the avoidance of irritants such as soaps and detergents are still the mainstay of management.

Ice pack to help with itching.
Shampoo with baby shampoo or something mild bathe with a non-irritating cleansing bar. Regular soaps will just make you worse.
