There are these really small puppies downstairs in my building, they have thier mother to look after them, and the guards who help feed them, and care for them, but not very often... Do you think i should bring one , or two of them into my home, ot provide a better future for them? Or is it better to leave them to their mother?

If they are still milking on the mother you should leave them alone.

If they are strays and are old enough to be away from the mother, then you need to consider if you have the time to raise one or more puppies and if you are in it for the long haul. Having a pet or pets is a huge responsibility and expense with the cost of feeding, shots and licensing.

For the ones you are choosing not to keep, if they are strays, you should take the remaining puppies you do not keep with the mother and take them to an animal shelter so they can all be adopted into a loving home and not left alone and abandoned.

I think you should adopt the puppies and give them a better future, they will accept you as their mother if you adopt them, they willl be happier and so will you. I have a puppy and it is great. But you will have to accept a lot of responsibility, they are a handful. And think about it this way, If the mother was a humand and so were the puppies and they were poor, the mother would be glad that you would adopt them and give them a better future. So get the puppy, and if you do here is a link to help you take care of them.

It depends on how old they are, if you should seperate them yet. I don't know what the appropriate age is, sorry. So, no one is claiming ownership? I would call the SPCA and they will know how to take good care of them, will feed them, have them checked out by the vet, and get the appropriate shots, etc. They will help find them all loving homes. Please look for a No-Kill shelter. Yes, some shelters will put even puppies down if not claimed. If you adopt one, it could be expensive.

Everyone should own a puppy at least once in their life. Without an owner the future probably won't be so bright for these dogs. If you can do something, then you probably should.

Also, if the other dogs have no owner, you should probably report them to the local Animal Welfare shelter. But before you do so, makes sure that they're prepared to keep them indefinitely, and won't put them to sleep if unclaimed.

Sooner or later, the mother isn't going to be able to care for her puppies. So, think about your current lifestyle and possibly your future. Do you have time to play with a puppy? Walk it? Care for it? Do you have a large enough living space so a puppy will be comfy? Are you considering getting your puppy trained? Think about these questions and any others when making the final descision.

At a certain age, the puppies can safely be taken away from their mother. However, don't take the puppy unless you will feed it, clean up after it, and give it a lot of attention. If you are living with your parents, make sure you have their consent, and talk to them.
I once brought home a kitten, and it was sick and constantly diarrahed all over my house. My dad made me return it.

Depends. If the pups still need the needs of a mother, wait until they are ready to not need the mother as much. But I think you should when they are. You could possibly provide a better future for some of them.

Well, you look old enough to take care of a puppy/dog, but are you fully ready for the responsibilities is the question?

I'll be 34 this month and I have always had a dog in my life. Right now I have a mix breed of a Saint Bernard and German Shepherd and she is a very intelligent, sweet dog... As well as a big moo-cow weighing in at 135 pounds.. lol

A few questions you would want to ask yourself...

1.) What kind of breed(s) is the puppy?

Depending on what size your apartment is, you want to make sure this puppy is not going to be a big moo-cow like mine. (Unless that sort of thing don’t bother you)

And also when it comes to the breed, you need to ask around to find out the intelligence level of the breed. I have come to know that a lot of Labs are pretty dumb, overly hyper and they don’t listen worth a darn.

Pitbulls, Boxers, Rottweilers, and Dobermans are known to bite/attack people as they get older.

Also when it comes to the breed, you have to check with the your insurance company. There are certain breeds insurance will not cover due to the attacks that certain breeds are known for doing.

2.) How much time do you have for the puppy for the proper training?

You live in a housing/apartment building, so there is no yard for yourself and your puppy to just be able to open the back door so he/she can go potty (fenced yard of course.) So you will be required in all sorts of weather (depending on where you live) to go up and down the stairs/elevator to let him out to potty. (And more so during potty training.)

3.) If you want to leave over night and it don’t require you taking the puppy along with you, then you will have to find a reliable, caring, and loving baby sitter for him/her till you get back.

4) Do you have the money, Money, MONEY to take care for him/her, the needs that are required to make him healthy and a happy pup?

Here is a site that gives some info about what you need to buy to help you along with taking care of your new pet.

(And if you cant afford the healthier puppy to mature dog food, then don’t bother getting a puppy at this time. I so hate it when I see people buy the cheapest brand of food for their animal, it is not as healthy and nutritious for there animal as the better brands are) Pedigree is the only type of dog food I have bought for my dog.

ALSO... if you get a girl puppy, you will need to get her fixed. Cause she gets her menstrual cycle twice a year and it lasts for about 2 weeks. My dog is a female and she gets her cycle, and with her being inside, I have to put diapers (depends) on and off of her whenever she goes out. And I go through 1-1/2 to two bags of depends each cycle

I hope this helps... If you have anymore questions or concerns feel free to contact me...

Good Luck! :)

First pick the puppy you like the most, and then go to a vet,if the puppy is bigger than one month take him.(if you want a puppy)

But if you can't take a puppy to your house, just give them to a place where they take car of them,or you can bring them to a vet.But just don' leave them outside.Having a puppy,a dog is a great thing, the feelings.......I had a dog,a Yorkshire, but somenone stole him.I loved him very much,so if you want a friend who will never leave you,and even when you are mad a friend that never stops loving you.......

puppies can leave their mother at 6 weeks of age. but around 4 weeks, they should be on puppy food, but make sure it is dry food! wet food gives them bad teeth and makes them spoiled. take them all to a shelter and see if they can find the puppies age out. the shelter can adopt them out and you can take one with you.
