I have an analogue camera for an endoscope in ntsc that I currently hooked up on a vcr recorder through the front panel composite video-in . It works fine on a ntsc and pal video recorder and it also works directly on the front video-in of my tv (which is PAL).
When I hooked it up on several different DVD recorders it does not work:
It shows a good picture but with a large band underneath with different colors.
The guys in the stores told me it (the band)is where usually the dvd information is to show.
I have tried different types but they all did the same.
Is this a NTSC-Pal issue or are all dvd recorders both system compatible?

Is there any way that I hook up the camera to the video-in in front and record on from the television to the dvd recorder? Can I still use the programming of the dvd recorder?

Every DVD recorder uses a video digitizer that converts the analog video to digital. The digitizer generates a 720x480 frame (NTSC) or a 720x576 frame for PAL.

For some reason, your camera seems to generate less than the expected lines, so the digitizer fills those lines with random bits (which is the band you see at the bottom).

It is very strange that your endoscope camera works for both PAL TVs and NTSC VCRs. Maybe it only sends one format but your existing TVs or VCRs are multi-standard. So, do make sure to find out what is the format of your camera (I think it is PAL) and then a matching DVD recorder (PAL in this case) should work just fine.

Yes, you can use all the programming of a DVD recorder. They are created to record any type of compatible input.

that is extra complicated. once you record a DVD you're able to have VOB archives and to edit those on your computing device you flow lower back to step a million, you should both seize them for your computing device via seize card or seem for a VOB report converter, installation it and use it for this reason. positioned up together with your question your digicam form and form, your computing device configuration, (IEEE1394 port or yet another seize card) and the enhancing software accessible on your device, so that you promises extra perfect recommendations on the thanks to proceed.
