Because God loves and forgives me, and this love motivates me to do good for others.
If you really think about it, as has been said before, life is pretty pointless on an overall scale. However, when you have a relationship with a loving God, the one who created you and knows you back to front, life becomes full of meaning, and this meaning is enhanced in service to others.

Hello digilook.. :)
The Love for others, is my motivation.. :)
When I see someone in need whether it be financial, physical or spiritual, I will be there for them.. :)
It does not matter if we have the same beliefs or not..for someones need, is not what ones believes..
It is a matter of your heart..to reach out to those less fortunate then yourself.. :)
In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ.. :)

There is only one way to gain deeds that are deemed good by God's standard. And that is to become a receptacle of the Holy Spirit by placing trust in God through Jesus Christ. I know that might seem dogmatic to many people, but that is what the Bible teaches anyway.
As a 'truster' of God we are promised the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. That Spirit brings us life and light that are not available to the unbeliever. That Spirit also brings us the inclinations that allow us to do God's will. That's why we can truly say that all the glory belongs to God- His righteousness is expressed through us as certain 'works' performed by us. We are still the sinning man that everyone is, but we have these times where we are capable of performing God's deeds.
So my anwer to your question is; God is my motivation.

When I work to do what I can to make the best possible world for everyone, that increases my own happiness. Selfish actions ultimately turn against you.
I don't need a cosmic "big brother" to dangle intangible rewards in front of me to know that doing good is the best course of action for both others and myself.

For an good mother isn't eny motivation.
She serves her's children so many times and so to serve others mens became her life, in that way is programate her mind and soul. Many times i think i am to harry, to help without somebody ask me for that. I see the need and i do something or i say something, without i ask: 'Can i help you?'
But, when i can be charity, i think very much ,are in my soul the voice of God which says do it....and my racionality says not yet..........
in the books of jnsr God says 'Let do the charity which is in you'
So i became to risk, and God gives to me all for my needs.

God only knows what is good for any person at any particular time. My motivation is to do for the person what God intends for that person for that time. To me this is really doing good with eternal implications.
