EASY ANSWER: A BOX!
Almost all dogs will not sleep where they defecate. Make sure the box is not too big that he can spoil one area and still sleep in another. At night, put a toy in the box with him for company.

If he has an accident in the house during the day, hold his nose around the offending area and tell him "no". A gentle slap on the butt will reaffirm your meaning. Then place him in the box (jail) for about 30 minutes. He will quickly learn. Usually after about 1 month he can start to sleep outside of the box. When he does go outside, praise him highly!

Dog's are curious animals. Given the choice of living in a box or exploring the world, they will willingly hold their bladder to experience what lays beyond the box.

I have a three month old BC that I thought would be difficult to housebreak because she is willful, stubborn and super active.
But to my surprise, it was fairly easy. About every half hour, I would say "Let,s go pee-pee" and take her to an area outside reserved only for her relief. It took a good deal of patience at first because she had several "accidents" in the house. NO punishment here--I would just say "No, not here" and take her outside. This worked for both #1 and #2. It only took about a week for her to get the idea. I made it fun for her by praising her each time she did either. No treats were needed. All she needed was the praise--"Good girl" over and over. I am retired and have the time to do this, perhaps you don't, but try as often as you can. She is NOT kept in a cage no matter how many people say to do this. Would you like to be kept in a cage? She has only had one "accident" in the last month because she was so busy playing that I guess she just forgot and could'nt hold it any longer (pee). You should have seen the look on her face when I saw it! Again, NO punishment. Just by seeing that she knew what she did was wrong was enough. So it was "let,s go pee-pee" again and she ran for the back door. I've been told that BCs are a "soft" breed, and that's exactly how she is treated. No yelling or voice -raising, just a soft low growl now and then, like mama would do. So don't punish or yell if your BC goes in the house. Patience, patience. It works! By the way, yes, she is all the things I mentioned before, but she is the most affectionate dog I have ever owned. Again, by the way, it is not that difficult to thoroughly clean and sanitize an "accident' spot. Love her, praise her, play with her as much as she wants and you'd be surprised at what lengths she will go to to please you. That includes the loo.

well I think the best way is with news Paper, just put news paper down & as soon as you see your little puppy doing the normal sniffing around, put him on top of the paper, Alway´s change the paper straight away , as for the other smelly buisenss, if your puppy does a poo on the floor take a tissue and wipe a little on the news paper , then take your little puppy there and show him/her, dog´s are not silly .he/she should go straight to the paper next time. Also keep moving the paper toward´s the door , just so He/She gets the idea, when the time come´s for the outside toilet. PS, don´t have news paper all over the house always in the same place other wise your puppy is doing exactly same as before & not learning anything

You have to show your puppy what you want it to do..
first watch what your pup is doing and if it sniffs around and looks like it needs to "go " take out(always use the same exit)
try and take it out every hour so it doesn't have chance to have any mishaps, you can gradually increase this as the pup learns.
and as soon as your puppy does what you want praise praise and praise!(you must do it as soon as the puppy does its biz)food is usually the best reward so keep some doggy chocs or something in your pocket!
if you scold your puppy for making mistakes it will get confused so just ignore any accidents unless you actually see the pup in the act,if this happens tell the pup a firm "no" and gently take it outside.
Your pup will soon learn as it just wants to please you and get that choc drop as well..and it will start to go on its own to the exit you use when it needs to go! just remember to keep calm .
You should crack it in a couple of weeks if you consistently use this method.
Stop using the puppy pads because this simply confuses the issue.
It works honest!

We trained ours with newspaper. Put lots and lots of newspaper all over the floors. Your puppy will have no choice then but to go on the newspaper (as it is everywhere) and when he does make a fuss. After a while, and little by little, start removing the paper until there is not much left and your puppy should seek out the remaining paper. Good luck!

There have been thousands of puppy training articles published on the internet about puppy potty training. And if you took the time to read them all you would soon discover that almost all of them lead to one word; CRATE. Crate training is without a doubt the most effective way to housebreak a puppy. It is easy, safe and will keep your house clean. Good Luck!!

don't train him to go in your house. Take him outside every half an hour , straight after he wakes, last thing at night, straight after you have fed him. Take, not put him out. Stay with him and praise him when he goes. Ignore anything he does in the house, do not punish or smack or shout at him. You will only scare and confuse him. If you take him out every half an hour without fail and praise like mad, he will be clean quickly. However if he is only 8 weeks old, don't expect too much as at this age they are not in full control of his bowels and bladder. You would not expect a 18 months old child to be out of nappies. He is the equivalent.

Do you have a puppy traveling carrying cage? Well the first thing to do is get one. Make him a bed in it. and put his food in there with him Then you put him in it shut the door, and don't let him out. But every two hours and that's long enough to go potty and put him back. Do this for about a week, then you can let him stay out side the cage a little bit longer after he went potty of course. and them put him back. He will cry at first and it will break your heart but that's all part of training him. I know this sounds like abuse but your not doing it to punish him just to confine him in one place and they wont go potty were they sleep and eat so this is perfect, and soon he will start heading for the door to sniff around and you will know its time to go potty. And always use the same word for this. potty or outside or what ever else you call it . just try to be understanding. and patient he will be well worth it I know trained my poms the same way all three times. No abuse No Hollering No Mess.

I dont agree with putting a dog in a cage at all.
When i have been training my dogs i have used the APPROVAL/DISAPPROVAL technique. when your puppy wees or poos somewhere that you dont want it, hold it buy the coller show it the mess then sternley say NO!! then put it in the garden for a few minutes while you clean the mess up then let your dog back in but ignore it for ablout 10 minutes. If you see your puppy messing where you dont want it to quickly get hold of it say NO!! and put it in the garden. when your puppy does its buisness in the garden or where you want it to praise it. your puppy will learn what you like and dislike. Dogs are very sociable animals and they always like to please your owners

First you need to have patience put a biscuit in your hand and show it to your puppy. Now when you show it to the puppy say sit and if that does not work try to hold him and when you hold him down say sit again then he will understand what sit means and do that with more things like lay down stand roll over is really hard and do one trick at a time and the number one thing is always love you puppy.
