Get regular trims every 6-8 weeks. Try not to use excessive heat and after shampooing, use a leave-in conditioner just on your ends.

Maybe if you use a texturizer to trim, it won't be so traumatic? You can keep some length, but still get rid of quite a few of your split ends. Probably want to invest in a good deep conditioner since there will be some remaining to help the hair appear healthy.

well trimming is a method by which you can get rid of split ends.but no one is getting into the point as to how one should prevent it.........right?
well to prevent split ends the first and foremost thing u should do is to tie the ends of the hair at night when yuo sleep,so that the ends do not undergo friction.indian girls go for the plaits in which the ends are ribboned, and that is why they escape split ends(though the ends become curly).the enxt think you must do is touch up the ends with serum(this advice was given to me by habib)
and lastly the cure:if some split ends do happen, get it trimmed.

the best ways to get rid of split ends is to cut it more often in small amounts, about 1/2 inch every 8 to 10 weeks.

You have to cut off your split end in order to maintain healthy hair. After you trim off your split end, every once or twice a week, you have to put hair treatment or hair mask to prevent the split end coming back again, but of course after your shampooing, you have to hair conditioner as well.

You need a better shampoo and conditioner to start with. Find one that works with YOUR hair type, try PANTENE if you can. Then look for PANTENE CLEAN and SILKY conditioner. Once the split ends are repaired, THEN get your hair trimmed.

well for a good trim about 1-2 inches should be cut off, but i guess getting a lot of layers might work. but if it was me i would just get a really good trim for the health of your hair. why get a haircut if youre not going to get enough off for your hair to be healthy and look good?
