When I was a kid, I had this long, silky blonde hair. One day, I asked my aunt, who was a "beautician" to give me a perm. She layered it in a gypsy cut first, and then fried it with the perm solution. I looked like a little old lady!

a hair dresser got too snip happy and gave me a bowl haircut. It looked more like a slipped budding bowl with forelocks, the back of it was just behind my shoulders and the front barely skimmed my forehead and was about an inch long! The front bit had been all brushed forward from the crown too, so it was a really thick yet short frindge that stuck up. I walked through the streets crying like a baby and promptly borought a hat. It's only getting back to normal now but i will not let anyone cut my hair apart from me!

Mine was just 5 months ago, I went for a trim 2 months before my wedding and asked him not to take too much off as I was having my hair put up for the wedding and when I came out I cried for 2 days as not only had he cut about 3 inches off the main length but my top layers were less than 3 inches long and it was lopsided. It grew JUST enough to get it up with the help of many hairgrips and spray but I'll never go back again. It is just starting to look half decent now as I've had to just get it evened up gradually.

For those in Scotland, avoid JB's in Glasgow!!!

Some years ago, after breaking up with a boyfriend,I did the old 'Go get a new haircut to reflect your new life' thing. I got to the salon, and the woman asked me what I wanted-I explained I wasn't sure-something flattering that brought out my eyes. (My best feature,I was often told.) She cut the front and sides of my hair SHORT and left the back long!! (Just like hers,I might add!!) I was devastated-I looked like I batted for the other side!! I burst into tears and refused to pay. She offered to cut the back short-but that would've made things worse-and there was no way I was letting her near my hair again!!

I had double-processed hair and I got a home perm on top of that and my hair started falling out and breaking right off at the root. I cried for DAYS! But now my hair is back to normal, but that was sosoooo scary!

How about blue hair at 20 years old? I had used a metal comb and that is a big no no when you are dyeing your hair blond. I wore a lot of scarves before I put two and two together and figured it out. Thank God that I did. Dishwater blond is only about one step up from blue.

Last year I bought a Hair colour and highlights kit, my mom offered to dye my hair for me. It was her first time to put highlight in. When I wash my hair out and blow dried it. My hair was yellow, all that I could do was scream. Luckily there were a little bit of colour left in the bottle and I mixed it with a bit of water, to camouflage the highlights.

I have black dreadlocks which I dye brown at a hair salon. However I travelled and there was no salon able to do this for me at a reasonable price, so I decided to do it myself. Needless to day instead of lovely brown hair, I had a head of orangy coloured hair and I have never lived it down. Pity no photos were taken ha ha ha
