My fiance and I are planning to get married in November of this year. He doesnt want to get married in the Church, and I am afraid of having the ceremony at the place we picked for our reception in case there is inclement weather, as we do live in the Poconos, PA and you never know if there will be snow in Nov or not. (There is no place to have it inside if the weather is bad either) We definitely dont want to do it at the courthouse either. Any suggestions??? Im running out of time.

My parents have a great "house" location so I'm doing both the ceremony and reception there. We're having it in September which can also be a little unpredictable as far as the weather goes. Depending on how many guests you're having, you could do what I did. I went on Ebay and purchased party tents (4), we're going to set them up side/by/side flushed together to make one large tent. If you know of someone w/a nice back yard or garden you could do this....just round up any portable/space heaters that your family members may own and have them ready to run incase it's a little chilly. (I know somebody has to have some...I live in PA too, those are a staple item for my family!!)

There are also wineries that will host weddings...any of those in your area?? I've also heard of ceremonies held at Bed and Breakfasts/hotel-resort rentals/boat club social halls/art museums/aviaries/botanical gardens.......basically your best bet is to just start calling around to see if different establishments in your area ever hosted or would be willing to host a wedding ceremony. Where ever you have it, it will be special!!
If you find a location and need some decoration ideas...email me at any time...I'd love to help you out!!!
ENJOY YOUR SPECIAL DAY!!!

If you have a good friend with a niceish house have it there if they will let you. Just get some fold up chairs and wrap some garlands of flowers around things. Clear the living room of furniture and have it in there. It should only inconvenience them for about half a day if you can get enough people to help before and after to replace the furniture and take things down. That way you will be warm and dry and in a comfortable setting. It would be nice to get whomever owns the house a small gift to say thank you also. Hope your wedding is lovely.
