In the physics department of the university where I am a student first-year undergraduate students ask why they have to study chemistry.
Physics and chemistry have nothing to do with software, but they have to do with how a computer works (electricity&circuits, memory function, screens, wireless communication and so much more), what materials are suitable for building a computer etc. You may think it is irrelevant, but it will give you a better understanding of the subject you are studying. If you don't see it now, you'll see it in the long-run.
