I don't know if they are smarter but I sure like them better as pets. They are cleaner and don'st stink like a ******* dog does. You leave town and all you have to do is put a plate of food and water down. They don't jump all over you with their dirty ******* paws. I like dogs too, but cats are soooo much easier. Plus dogs don't purr.

Cats are smart enough to look after themselves, and to leave home if they are mistreated. Dogs need looking after and show insane loyalty even when beaten.
It may have to do with one being naturally independant while the other is a pack animal

Really cats are one of the absolutely dumbest animals on the face of the earth. They have an odor like crap and they leave hair all over the carpet and furniture and all the spray in the world cant get rid of that Damn odor.

they are both smart but in different ways
a cat is very independant , clean and intuitive
a dog has heightened senses and can learn a great deal

Because they actually know how to use a litter box instead of your carpet, or yard, and, they don't stink, they bathe themselves, and they don't need to be walked.....they are self sufficient.
