LCD. Keep in mind, that if you freeze-frame an image on plasma, it can burn onto the screen!

Plasma in general have more contrasts and shows more vibrant colours, has lesser ghosting effect.. doesn't leave as much trail of previous image compared to LCD (although this has been improved upon in the newer LCD's but they tend to be a bit more cosliter). and is cheaper for a good set.
LCD is a bit costlier atleast for the good sets and they tend to be brigther and are good for bright rooms etc...
Otherwise they are very close to each other in all other terms...

Depends on the use.

If you have you TV in a bright area, you would want an LCD screen since it has less glare.

Plasmas are better since they have less after-shadow on fast moving objects and you are able to view the screen from wider angles than an LCD screen

LCD flatscreens are better!

I like LCD. they are usually a little cheaper, and look great. you may also want to check out DLP tvs-they have great pictures!

They´ll both eventually require maintenance. Save your money and stick with the normal ones. They not on last longer,they are also cheaper !
