Yes he can. My father was my brothers' best man. I think it is sweet.

I think it would be very thoughtful and genuine for the father of the groom to be the best man. I know so many people who would be pleased with that arrangement personally! I say go for it. Even if other people think it's strange, it's your special day anyway!

To begin with you do not have to have 5 bd's just to avoid hurt feelings. You have the number you want to have. There are other places to put friends in a wedding. Secondly, it would be a marvelous idea to use his father as best man. He is probably the closest friend your hubby to be has.

the adult males who're no longer the superb guy are tradtionally reported as "groomsmen". There are some techniques that the groom can enter. each so often, he can escort somebody significant down the aisle (mom, grandma, and so on) and then bypass as much as the altar whilst she is seated. extra often than no longer, the groom and his "adult males" enter in the church from the area and line up with the groom in the front, so they do no longer seem to be walking down the aisle, in keeping with se. In my wedding ceremony, the groomsmen lined up and then he and his superb guy (his brother) walked down the aisle mutually, area via area, which became into neat. The bridesmaids regularly walk down separately, on my own. Then on the top, the groomsmen escort each and each bridesmaid bypass into opposite the aisle, which contain the superb guy alongside with your maid of honor.

Unconventional but there's absolutely no reason why not. You just need to ensure that there's someone to act as partner for the groom's mother during the celebrations.

Sure! My husband's father was his best man, and my mother was my maid of honor. It's your wedding, do it however you want it.

If they are close as you say, I think that would be a wonderful gesture on your fiance's part. I bet his dad will be honored.
