It was off the coast of Chile in 1960. I believe a 9.3 on the scale.

The next 2 were the "Good Friday" Alaska quake of 1964, and the Indian Ocean quake that triggered the tsunami in 2004. They estimated both of those to be about 9.1 to 9.2.
