Well the answer is because we are all sleeping and the government is more interested in getting fat tax and personal payouts. Industries need water and minerals which are available only near forests and green belts and in the name of so called economic development soon we will pollute our earth to an extent that our children will suffer with all kind of dieseses and problems but does any one care for the coming generation?

If we the people start opposing harmful proposals i am sure we will be able to save our green belts, our water saftey, our fresh air and so on.

I don't fully endorse such initiatives from our government. However, I am also not in favour of halting our economic development. Hence, in my opinion our Govt. should identify the non-usable Ushar land for the industrial development by providing the necessary infrastructure around the site in place of selecting green belts / agricultural lands which are supported/availed with necessary infrastructure from near by sources and thus accepted as candidate site for development zone by the government.
