i met this elderly men 2 years ago, he was a lonely single man living by himself, i am 24, he is 81. At the time i feel sorry for him so i help him out on a weekly basis such as shopping, taking him to hopital, i also meet him once a week for coffee. but recently he is getting more demanding on how often i should call him and spending time with him. I have a boyfriend and my own life, i spent around 4 hours with him on saturday this week but he still think its not enough. also he wants us to go on a day trip on a regular basis. I really feel sorry for his loneliness but i have my own life to go on, what should i do?

Get him involved in the local community center, contact the elder agency in your area and they can assist him with finding activities and making new friends his own age. Practice some assertiveness, (this is really very kind in the long run) and say.. Mr. Soandso, I know you enjoy our time together and I do too, I want you to consider what is in your best interest. Have you thought about what you can do to (whatever ... )? I am not available to be with you as much as you are asking. Help him decide to get involved in something else. Help him decide that he is the one who can solve his loneliness issue.
Wish you the best and never lose that tender heart, your one in a million God Bless You.

Wow, what a nice person you are! Does he have any family who can help? Maybe find a senior center in the area so he can meet with people his own age...people who have as much free time as he does.

File stalking charges, carry pepper spray, take a self defense class, change your number, pour soy sauce on your head and join the army.
