Trabzon is hitting all records these days.
Adana has long been reputable.. I guess that still counts..
and never underestimate the potential of Diyarbakir.

Every city has its fair share of safe areas and no-go areas; friendly people and unfriendly people; in turkey as in every other country.
I've visited the cities in the east of Turkey (Diyarbakir, Urfa, Mardin, etc) though not lived there. As a tourist, I found them to be friendly and safe. A lot depends on your behaviour - if you get drunk, flash your money around, behave in an "unseemly" manner, you are asking for trouble. If you are careful, open minded and accept the social mores of the place you're in, you'll probably be OK.
I live in Izmir, I'm single, female, from London. Izmir is generally safer than London, I can go out, travel home late at night etc with no worries. However, there are parts of Izmir I wouldn't go to alone at night. The worst area now is that bordering the night-life hub of Alsancak. Large, male friends will no longer walk home at night in those parts. Many friends have been mugged, homes robbed etc. It's the same as any other big city. Istanbul is probably worse.
I know of no "no-go" cities in Turkey. Parts of most cities are probably no-go areas though.

Istanbul takes the fist place for all the asnwers of these questions. Although I don't like it, I don't think Diyarbakir is one of these kind of cities. People are so used to seing foreigners around themselves in Diyarbakir but you should be careful about Hakkari, Sirnak, Batman, Siirt, Tunceli and Bingol. I would say they are no-go areas. The other cities are ok. But don't forget that as you easter, you should be more careful.

Antalya is a safety city that it can be a sample for safe.
Unfortunately there are unsafety districts in most of the cities in Türkiye, but this is a world problem, do not forget the back streets of NY, London and Paris.
Crimes happen a lot in big cities; Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Adana.
Most unfriendliest people in Türkiye??? Nowhere.
The people in Konya, Bolu, Karaman, KırÅehir, Denizli, Afyon get drunk a lot. And these cities are well-known religious cities!!!
Do not believe the media, Türkiye is a safety country.
Good luck...

No city is dangerous in Turkey. But parts of cities are dangerous. I'm living in Adana and I haven't faced a single problem in my life here. But if you go to some parts in midnight, yeah it can be dangerous. People can be agressive due to the culture but it doesn't mean they will attack you with no reason. So, feel free to travel all cities but avoid some parts of the cities.

I honestly think nowhere and everywhere if that makes sense as every city in the world has its own positive and negativities, I personally don't feel safe in istanbul but then again its a very big city, just like I don't feel safe in London, but its my personal opinion...

They say south eastern Anatolia, maybe because of the events there, or of poverty. And these are words of turkish people, not mine, turkish friends..About Istanbul no..I dont think so, you must know where to move. But the Aegean part of Turkey is....really a paradise, especially marmaris, turunc, icmeler..
