He gives me mixed signals, sometimes I'm convinced he likes me and at other times i think he doesn't even know me.
We don't really talk because I'm shy and he is not the type to spin a conversation from small talk. I want to talk to him to get to know him at least even if he doesn't like me beacause he's a thinker like me.
Note: he isn;t shy, just reserved he's very talkative with his close friends but not just everybody.

I think it'll be good to be on talking terms with him first. By that I mean, to get him to start being talkative with you.
Since you both are shy, why not start chatting online first? Online we tend to open up a little cos people can't see our instant reaction so he might be more chatty.
When you next meet him, you can move along the lines of your chats like if he told you he likes a certain band, you both can start discussing it. I guess it would take a little more work on your part to "research" on his areas of interest if they aren't the same as yours.
It would be great if you both are in the same clique or both your cliques hang out together. Involve yourself in conversations he is in and try to get opportunities to learn about him and tell him about you.
Try to steer away from any romantic tactics so soon as he might not reciprocate and be frightened off instead. Good luck!

ok well here it goes.
everyone is shy at one point or another.
even the most talkative people you know.
dont feel bad that your shy.
just think to yourself.
to you .. everybody is staring at you and all that when you talk.
just think though. if you talk you think people would see you any different.
i mean. if you talk to him hes not going to do anything.
just talk to him.
if you dont than he wont and nothing will happen.
i am telling you.
you can make him like you.
talk and talk and talk and talk. for a week.
see if he acts different around you.
than if he does tell him you like him.
if he doesnt act different than ask him if he likes you.

Guys are like that dear...
He does like you! He just hasn't been with you long enough to know how to treat you around people... Maybe he's just afraid of "messing up", so to speak...
Give him some time... It's not easy for a male to open up... As we all know they're not really open with their feelings unless they've been with you really long, or if all they want is sex...
So, he'll come around all in due time...

How about befriending him,getting to know him before getting into a relationship?
It would help to close the gap in between and also let you understand him better.

hey girl, got the same problem over here (well almost)... what can you do? well you can start to ask him questions about stuff he's into or he really knows--music, hobbies, and stuff..
playing like a "damsel in distress" could probably work..
and don't forget to always give him a sweet smile (give him the "look")
