I just installed Vista on my home computer. I hate it!!! I made sure my computer was able to support Vista and was told the only problem I would have was my printer. After getting a new printer and fighting to install that for a day after installing Vista, I have had nothing but problems with other programs. My video card can not support Movie Maker which I use to make movies almost on a daily basis as an extra source of income. I don't want to upgrade my computer. I can't even use iTunes!!! I just want to uninstall Vista and go back to XP until I am ready to make some changes to my pc.

Does anyone know how to do this or if it's even possible? I'm not very computer literate, but I am teachable. Please Help!!!!!!!

Back up all your stuff onto disk, grab your XP restore CD's and have fun reinstalling your operating system.

Just restart your computer with the restore CD in the drive - it'll ask you if you're sure about 4 times... read everything, etc. It'll take you about 2hours, and a lot of reboots, but you'll get there.

Too bad you're not into trying dual-booting - I think you might like Ubuntu (a very friendly and easy to use version of Linux).

I will suggest you do two things with Internet Explorer once you're back up and rocking:
1.) Grab a firewall like "Zonealarm" - keeps hackers out.
2.) Grab Firefox - much safer than Internet Explorer.

Remember to do the masses of XP updates AFTER you have a firewall.

Start up Firefox and grab AVG (anti-virus) and Spybot Search & Destroy (anti-spyware). Ccleaner (crud cleaner) would be a good idea too.

These will keep your computer in good shape, if you make a habit of using them every other week.

Hey, You cant run xp cd directly. You need one bootable cd and put that cd in DVD/CD player. If you have floopy driver then you can use floppy also. You need to change the sequence of booting in BIOS setting.

Once you do that , you format the C drive then restart the system.

After that you put the xp cd in DVD/CD player , It will install XP.
Hope it will help you.;-)

I THINK you can go back to XP, but you would have to erase everything and start from scratch, reloading every program from its disk
