My Stepmother and I do not get along very well and due to this my Father and I stopped talking for almost a year. I recently decided that I wanted to try to rebuild our relationship because I Love my father very much. I have recently started calling him, talking and whent to go see him. I have been living with my boyfriend now for 5 months and we just found out that we are having a baby! We are very happy since it was in the plans for one day. I am in my late twenties and my boyfriend his early thirties, so we are really excited to having the baby and I so want to tell my dad asap, but I'm not sure how to go about it! I just found, in my sixth week and was wondering since I'm not showing yet if I should wait and try to get them to meet each other, tell him anyhow or either way wait until I'm into my second trimester - I hear that is a common pratice anyhow? Any suggestions? How did other people tell there parents? It'll be his first grandchild so I'm sure he'll be excited!

I think you should tell him now. He may be upset you waited to tell him. Im sure he will be excited for you. He should understand why he hasnt met your boyfriend since you and your dad are now just on speaking terms. Good Luck.

First take your boyfriend, and introduce him to your dad. Let them spend a few hours, minimum, getting to know each other, before you break the news. Otherwise it might be a little too much at once to find out you're having a baby with a man he doesn't even know. I'm sure he'll be happy for you though, congrats.

Congratulations! I think you should contact your father regardless of your situation. Simply either call or write him a letter enclosed in a card. I wouldn't come right out and mention your pregnancy though. I would try to rekindle your relationship first and eventually tell him about your pregnancy. I think he'll be very happy to hear from you.

Well set up a date with your father where you want 2 have a chat with him alone. Then call your bf and let him know whats going on and meet up with you guys on that date. Take deep breath and relax. The sooner you sit down and have this talk;the better. Good Luck with everything.

So what's wrong with simply being open and honest about the matter? Tell him. If your step mother doesn't like it, tough.
