eating more will never make you thinner, but if you eat fruits like apples or pears which have a high fibre content, you will feel fuller even though apples and pears dont contain many calories..
this means that if you eat fruit before a meal you'll end up eating less for the meal and thus consuming less calories, and the less calories you consume the better if you're tryna lose weight (tho one should never take this to the extreme as a whole new set of health problems are posed)

It certainly does if you take a long time to eat your fruit slowly and only have small meal. The idea being that it will register on your brain that you have eaten so that you will not need to eat a lot !!!

no only in that you perhaps eat less because you're already full of fruit, be careful too much fruit can also be bad for you, get the ones lowest on the glycemic index.

Hi there,
I like your red hat!!!!!.
Fruit is amazing food because it is such a healthier option than sugar rich biscuits or cakes that never fill you up anyway because the sugar makes you addicted to sweet things and so the cravings are continous. Fruit has natural sugar and isn't addictive in the same way as bad food and you can eat as much of it as you like and not put on weight because the majority of fruit is water-based and stops cravings for unhealthy foods.
Five portions of fruit a day is healthy and good whether you eat it before or after a meal, though things like apples are harder to digest if you eat it after a meal. Fruit before a meal will fill you up first and so your meal you might not want to eat!. But it is always good to keep fruit seperate from other food groups and because you can digest it a lot better. Kiwi fruits are deliscious and so is passion fruit and this squeezed into a bowl of natural yoghurt is incredible to taste!.
Acidic fruits such as grapefruit or oranges are not to everyone's taste and because they are known to over-stimulate stomach juices and acidity and can cause indegestion and heat burn etc. These are best eaten seperatley from other foods more than any other fruit you eat and some hours after eating a dinner. I am now altering my diet radically and eating raw foods like peppers, cabbage and lettuce leaves everday and it is incredible how your taste buds and body gets used to these foods.
I used to eat crisps and cake and microwave foods, pizza and all kinds of junk, but am now eating as many raw things as I can with rice and jacket potatoes and beans. You feel full for so much longer than when you eat salty or sugary foods and you actually begin to like the taste of healthier whole foods that are full of fibre. Fruit is just as important as vegertables if you eat the right kind that aren't too calorific.
One chopped banana in breakfast cereal with raisons are two fruits a day. One kiwi fruit and passion fruit in natural yoghurt is another two fruits and if you eat an apple with your lunch, that will make it up to five a day! - You don't have to eat large peices or quantities and in fact, berries are very good for you and very detoxiying eaten in anyway. Losing weigt is about cutting out the stuff like salt and sugar found in so many conveinience foods and that in itself will make you drop dress sizes whether you eat fruit or not!
Eat fibre-foods and raw detoxifying foods gradually get used to them and soon you will begin to enjoy them as I do and lose weight caused by the foods we are used to eating that aren't good for us. You can't eat chocolate and then an apple and excpect results - I used to beleive that I could lose weight this way and you just can't.
Fruit certainly helps a lot, but you do need a salt free and sugar free and fat free diet to lose weight. I am doing so well but am finding it hard too to eat healthy foods even though I feel better physically!.
Good luck to you and hope my advice helps you? - you sound like somone who cares about their health so that is the most important thing!
