Men like me absolutely love white women (preferably blonde), but then why do all white women say they want to get a tan???

Hi Phoenix,

I am extremely pale and blonde and only ever occassionally wear a fake tan or make up to stop myself from looking so ghostly. There is a lot of pressurre on women to look a certain way and a lot of women will follow the fashions and trends of celebrity-life where women are constantly tanned up and like the woman on the adverts, women are becoming more and more paraniod about their looks than ever before. Women aged between 16 and 60 are now meant to look skinny, bronzed and model-like according to the messages the media continually hit us with.

I am conscious being pale around so many women in the street who are brown andstick- thin - I see them all everday and in the street, in shops and at work and so they make everyone else feel as if they are the ugly ones and this makes people feel outcased and as if they are unpopular and unsexy - I never used to bother about these things until very recent years where women have become more and more like television adverts than ordinary people.

Twenty years ago, when I was 13 in 1985, every woman and child I knew were all different sizes and mostly pale. Now, I see a huge difference and people no longer look ordinary like they once did and so many are becoming what the magazines, televisision ect are telling them to be. My mother wore her natural pale skin with pride like so many others did, but now, it is so rare to see women who are white!. I love my pale-skin but if I don't wear make-up or fake tan, I rarely get past a job interview or looks from good looking guys.

I am very attractive and have beautiful features and large eyes and look very young for 33, but being pale is not attractive to many other people and so it is great for a man to say that he likes a woman is who is white. I wish other people would be okay with it too because if that is your colour, that is your colour. I can't be a different colour and will never go sun-bedding because it ruins the skin and you age so young. I think too much fake tan can make a woman look very ugly and I see women a lot younger than me who look terrible due to tanning!

I think it is pathetic for society to encourage women to look a different colour from what they are naturally and teaches them that they are not good enough if they don't wear the false slap that ages the skiin. I am half Swedish and why I am so pale anyway and so women even in my country, put on fake tan and go sunbathing to look darker.

Women don't want to stand out from those who are all brown and why then women who are pale, use these tanning things to change the way they look so that they don't feel the odd one out. We should all be what we are born to be and pale skin is just as beautiful as any other skin type.

Not all women. I don't go in the sun w/out sunscreen. I am blonde and very fair skin. I think more about wrinkles and skin cancer then looking "healthy" for 2 months

I only want a tan for summer when I wear shorts. I don't want my legs to be white. In winter, I don't care because I wear jeans.
