The correct saying is: "To err is human, to forgive is Divine." Nowhere in the Bible does it say that we cannot sin. In fact, the Bible says that we will sin and commit the same sins over and over, but we have an advocate in Jesus Christ before the Father who is just to forgive us if we ask him. The blood of Jesus saves and protects. Salvation does not guarantee a sinless life, it merely offers the christian the opportunity to sin less and have fellowship restored by God. Salvation is not a license to sin. the truly saved person will want to sin less and try to live a perfect life for the rewards that it offers. It is far better to stay out of jail than to stay in jail. It is far better to go to heaven and collect a reward, than it is to go to hell and suffer for all eternity. Life is just easier and more pleasant when God is obeyed.

We keep on erring as long as we live . in order to be wise next time. What is good if we are conscientious is that we have lesser error than the others.

Everyone has trouble in this area, because when the men who sat around eating someone else's food and drinking someone else's water without working for it decided to make up your religion, they decided it would be fun to make the rules impossible for people to win, assuring that nobody ever slipped beyond the control/authority of their new cult. The truth: To follow blindly is human, to think for one's self, now THAT is divine.

This is the first time I hear the second part of the phrase as you state it. And it does not make sense to me. What I know is: 'To err is human, to forgive is divine'.

Peace
