If you look at what the soaps contain it's largely a load of tittle tattle gossip centered on relationships,affairs,broken hearts and the trials and tribulations of everyday life.
Years ago and before T.V., this subject matter was swapped by women talking to their neighbours over the garden fence and then became the stuff of womens' magazines.Now the there is a regular diet available every night at the flick of a switch.
Its the content they revel in and the opportunity to cast judgment on the characters' behaviour-good or bad.Its what women like to do.
Their question to us would be why do men always watch the sport?

It is not only women who watch soaps. Men just won't admit it. I work with a guy who swears he does not watch soaps but asked "So did Sonia really kill Pauline". Gosh he even knew the names but he does not watch the programme. I on the other hand had to ask what he was talking about as I do not watch soaps!

The same reason why men sneak a peek at porn. Men hungry for physical contact, women hunger for romance. It's been that way since the 1960's. Soaps have morphed quite a bit since the 70's but still feed that area that women miss.

No idea, ,never watched soaps. Perhaps the better q would be why do some women watch soaps?

i know very few women who watch the soaps.
we all have jobs outside the home and then housework to get done when we get home.
in the meantime hubbies are sitting on the couch, with a cold one, watching sports while chowing down !

Because our lives are a soap, we love to see how others handle it as well. Makes more sense than watching boxing!

women watch soaps because life is more exciting on television than seeing this gorrila sitting there burping farting and drinking beer so really it is an escape from reality for women to get away from the daily grind in what we call men lmao

well probably cos our own lives are crap and it makes you feel better knowing someone else is worse off. and there are loads of men out there that like the soaps so why not the same question about men watching them

Where have you been ? Steamy online chat sessions, web cam sessions and online love relationships is where you find 90% of the women these days. The TV networks haven't realized it yet but that's where women who are home during the day spend their time.

I dont watch the soaps at all, and Im pretty sure that there are as many guys who are addicted to footy, golf, tennis, cricket etc on tv. So I guess you wanna do some more research on woman before you ask your next question.......................
