I don't think so as generally spicy foods are high in fat & salt as well, especially spicy foods in Indian curries, Thai food, Indonesian & Malaysian foods, etc.

My advice is to eat spicy foods in moderation if you want to control your cholesterol level.

However, fresh chillies are high vitamin C and prevent cold, plus fasten your metabolism.

But other than that, I usually find spicy foods too greasy - even though they are yummy (therefore it's unhealthy) and should be only consumed occasionally.

Well, my friend. At least you are concerned about it. Eggs have a lot of cholesterol. Sausage has a lot of cholesterol. Cheese has a lot of cholesterol. Almost all dairy products have a lot of cholesterol. Watch your salad dressings, they contain bad stuff as well. Eat lots of leafy, green vegetables. Lean meat such as chicken, turkey, but don't fry it, bake or broil and get a can of cooking spray. Oatmeal is excellent in reducing cholesterol. So are Cheerios (don't particularly like but just info). Get yourself a paperback that lists the worst foods for cholesterol. Sometimes, high cholesterol is genetic. I take red yeast rice (in capsule form and over the counter) It works. Good luck. You will get is done. Try to keep your cholesterol under 200.

I have read somewhere that a gram of cinnamon daily - one quarter of a teaspoon twice a day - reduces blood sugar, triglycerides (fatty acids in the blood), bad cholesterol level as well as total cholesterol.

However, cinnamon is also believed to be toxic at some point, but the toxicity amount is not yet determined.
