Alister Crowley was a Mason so yes we do except any supreme being as previously stated were banned from discussing religion in Lodge so its irrelevant. Now would a Satanist want to be a Mason I doubt it our degree work encompasses the Temple of Soloman dedicated to god. Lastly the moron that said Satanism in Scottish rite couldn't be more wrong and Jesus is directly used in the degree work plus how old was Jesus when he died 33 wow that is interesting. There are Buddhist Masons all over the world that believe in multiple gods don't believe all the crap people spew.

I am a co-mason as well and there are a few things to consider past the point that we will accept any belief in a supreme being. Another thing that is involved in masonry is tolerance. You must be tolerant of another's beliefs. If you do not practice this tolerance you will not be allowed into lodge. Therefore if a person wanted to become a mason, would they be tolerant of myself being a Christian? Would the rest of the loge be tolerant of them? If the answer is yes all around, then they are welcome to join.
One of the things that I love most about masonry is the exchange of ideas especially those that are different from my own. We are all trying to grow and become better people, and those we meet on our path help us to get there. There is no reason that a Satanist and a Christian can't learn and grow from each other any more than a Jew and a Catholic can't learn from one another. Differences are to be hung up at the door of the lodge as we need to come together to do our works. If someone is unable to do that regardless of their religious affiliation, then those are the people not welcome.
I would question why this person worshiped Satan. Is it because they are bad people who want evil things to happen or are they just of a chaotic and material mindset? The answer to these questions would be weighed before admittance. If they show that they want to learn, grow become better people and help others learn, grow and become better people then I do not find an issue with it. As I said, tolerance is most important. It's a two way street. Anyones beliefs who detract from that ultimate goal of reaching and growing would not be welcome.

When Masons say that you are required to believe in a Supreme Being. They are referring to THE Supreme Being meaning God. You probably could worship Satan and be a Mason because, Masons don't require you to be a certain religion. The Masons are accepting of people that are any religion and, they don't have much actually in thier meetings that is religious. They do however, speak of the Great Architect, meaning God.

When I was young, there were in the newspapers things and things about masons. They worship evil and things like that.
Now, when I am one (at 28 years old) I realized that are not evil, dangerous or even scary. Yes, any lodge has his ideals and spiritual orientation but I never heard of a lodge with satanic ideals.
For example, in my lodge, the supreme book is the bible (as in 99.99% in the Christian lodges is), the ruler and compass. We are an artist orientated lodge. We sit and talk about art, spirituality and progress by science. After some reunions, we organize in the night reunions with drinks were members gather funds from all of us and we decide what purpose to give them. Yes, with the funds you can do anything, from buying tips and political people to donations.
I saw your question and I asked my lodge master about it and theoretical no one in mason will judge you for your religion and belief . You can even believe in Lucifer or in women breasts as long as your scientific, spiritual and intellectual is not oriented to harm you kind.

I am a Mason and we believe in freedom of religion. What your religious beliefs are are not asked or talked about at a lodge. But mostly only good people would want to belong to a lodge. All we do is sit around hang out and organize charitable work. An "evil" or corrupt person would be board. And even if they joined a lodge the wouldn't find any reason to come to a lodge meeting

Hi, I am a Master Mason and a Mark Mason in American Co-Masonry. The question you ask is a valid one, one I asked, too.
I wonder if you know any real Satanists, not the stuff you see in movies? I have met a few. They are not slaves to Satan, and I would honestly say they do not worship Satan as such.
I think a Satanist would have trouble in Co-Masonry. Not because we are hard on anybody's religion - that part does not come up - but because you must show discipline, master (subdue) your passions, and engage in good works. Satanists I have known have been first and foremost ego-centric. However, that is a generalization.
If there are any Satanists in our Order, they have been very quiet about it. And you know what? I cannot judge them on what they believe. I just either hangout with them or don't depending on their actions.
I think it is time to put this "whipping boy" to sleep. This is the same ignorant hatred that tars Jews, Catholics, Muslims, and anybody not going to MY CHURCH as demonic. Check the label on our package "Free"masons. We do not take slaves, felons, or folks of bad repute.

I presume so, but since Satanists don't actually worship Satan and don't consider him a Supreme Being the point is largely moot.
The question you are asked is specifically "Do you believe in a Supreme Being"--you are not asked what Supreme Being you believe in or anything else about your religious beliefs or practices. So if someone did believe as you suggest then they would certainly be welcome into a Lodge.

Being a mason is a dangerous thing. They say you worship a God so I guess if Satan is your God that would qualify you. They do secret rituals and things which is very similar to the Satan's church so they are not some organization a christian would want to associate with.

Considering at Degrees 31, 32, and 33, there is an oath of fealty to Lucifier, Light Bearer... You might even get a few degrees up free for it.
