It is based on resistance training.A form of isometrics.They are excellent machines,but are expensive.If you are sure that you are going to continue to use this I would recommend it.If you are not sure then I would go with a gym plan or fitness club.You must also be able to assemble the Bowflex,unless they have changed their policy within a year.Just starting out seriously this type of machine cost a couple grand so make sure your going to use it or you will be stuck with a kinda large machine in your house or garage.

It uses resistance weight to tone and streghten muscles. Remember with any weight lifting don't strain your first couple weeks. Add a comfortable weight. Something you can carry easy and go through the motions that the guide shows you. After your first week or two start adding more weight.
