hi, there is no reason to stp brest feeding other than pressure fom other people.I fyou are bottle feeding, thenit is an expensive excercise to stay on formula.cows milk is fine, but give it quater strenth for a coupleof days then half strenght, for a few more ,if htats tolerated ok,go u p to full strenth.the problem with going on full strength cows milk is that littles often tend to get constipated on it, when it is suddenly intoduced full strength. If the opposite happens and the child gets diarreah at 1/4 or 1/2 strenth then you may have to think about a soy milk product, but it's not necessary unless there is a problem.
Some one here suggested goats milk, it's fine but very high in fat, and it tends to make for fat babies and toddlers,it's also expensive.

I turned to whole milk when my little girl turned 1. She wasn't too fussed with the 'growing up' milk. I had even tried the vanilla flavour but she only took it really at bed time. today my little girl is 26 months and still loves cows whole milk. She still has it on waking and at bedtime and if she's feeling down or upset she'll ask for it throught the day. A success I'd say for a little girl who wasn't too bothered by the formula stuff

hi, i gave my children cows milk when they were one as some of the advanced formula milks can make them sick, but if you want to use a formula milk then they are all about the same.sma progress is always advertised on TV and is a trusted brand, but your paying more for the privilege. its entirely up to you. maybe ask your health visitor for suggestions! they do say though if you are going to use a formula milk keep to the same brand because changing it could cause them to get a upset tummy. i hope i have been of some help take care xx

If your breastfeeding, that breastmilk is always best. If not then every pediatrician ive spoken with says whole milk. I gave my daughter whole milk and low fat after her 1st year. But again they say to give them whole. The fat in the milk helps their brain develop.

Full Fat cows milk as long as she isn't intolerant or allergic to it.
Otherwise there are formula milks for the over 1's in any supermarket/chemist/shop. e.g Cow and Gate and SMA milk.

at one year old your childs digestive system is mature and you can give her FULL FAT milk, dont give her the semi skimmed stuff, i done this once and my heath visitor said that kids need the saturated fat from dairy produce, so blue tab full fat milk all the way, remember and take the chill of it a bit though or you could cause tummy upsets at first
