Sounds to me like she's afraid of having to be dependant on a man... Because that's exactly what will happen if she was to allow herself to like, or even love one...
The opposite sex can only do without the other for so long, then they start to realise that somethings missing in their lives...
She's probably in the prime of her life right now. Thinking she doesn't need anyone for anything cause she can "supposedly" do it on her own. She'll soon realise that she's going to need somebody... It's just a matter of time...

Well, I am a woman who has done all of that on her own. I enjoy working on my own vehicles and actually take pride in it. I have solved mens' vehicle troubles when they couldn't figure out what was wrong. I have put shingles on a roof and painted houses as jobs. When the hot water tank went out I knew the smell and tried to tell maintenance and they thought it was a light bulb. When people complain about a leak I know to tell them to shut off the water valve first without any training in plumbing. Don't underestimate women. I'm not saying that all women know these things, but I'm not a girly girl and you would never know it to look at me. Does that mean I can live without a man? Yes, because I am independent and intelligent, but do I want to live my life without someone who can be my best friend and talk to as an equal...NO.

LOL
I installed my tankless water heater myself, I change my own flats, and more than likely when it's time to put a new roof on, I'll be stuck doing that too. Why? Because every time I try to PAY a man to do a stinkin thing around here, he either doesn't show up when he said he would, or he does it WRONG and I have to redo it.
Love my boyfriend, don't get me wrong, but when I need something built or fixed or installed right, I generally do it myself. He has *other* uses that I am quite appreciative of, heh.

No. A woman can live wothout man and Man can live without a woman. But they both are needed for this world. We can see some women and men living all the life alone. Its a mutual understanding. Your conclusion is wrong. If a woman cant live without a man... then a man also cant live without woman.

Women don't "need" men. Men don't "need" women. It's all a social delusion. Women are far more capable than they believe. you can change a tire on a car. Have you ever tried? Deferring to men is just a way to make things easy and make yourself dependent at the same time. But that's basic human codependency.
Try it yourself first, you would be amazed at what your actually capable of. Be strong enough to be your own person. Then find a man to be your equal(or girl, depending); not your boss or slave.

Women can change tires, roof houses, and install hot water tanks just as well as men can. (They would have to be professionals, of course, but so would the men.) What this woman meant is that she doesn't need a BOYFRIEND to help her with anything. Please get me in touch with her — she sounds like my kind of woman.
You have very old-fashioned ideas about gender roles. Using your logic, men would need women for meals and clean laundry. But you can do that yourself, right?
Except for breeding and sex, the two genders are completely useless to each other.

I think when you get down to it, none of us "needs" anybody else. A woman can learn to be a roofer, and hot water tanks haven't always existed, so I think "need" is a very subjective term.
Having said that...Love is good. Love is important, and valuable and worthwhile. So it makes me a little sad when I hear so many women saying they don't need a man, and then getting involved in foolish, loveless relationships that they REALLY don't need.
Real, true love is undervalued. Whether we "need" it depends on what life is about to you

Not true. Women are capable of anything men are. Though, alot of women are helpless when it comes to mechanics, I am helpless when it comes to housework. Does that mean I need a woman? No.
