I woke up one morning and my finger on the right hand had drawn under. I couldn't use it. I tried to straighten it out. It made a noise like I had broke it. It's painful. What can I do to keep from being crippled in my right hand. Please answer

If it only happened once, and you've been able to use the finger since then, it probably isn't anything to worry about. You could have sleep on it for hours the night before. You also could have had a muscle spasm. It is doesn't stop hurting, go to your local emergency department and have it x-rayed.

this sounds lke a trigger finger... is when the tendon swells up a bit and does not move through the bone and joint nicely... the pop you heard was the swollen part actually making it through the hole as you straighten the finger. It could have been from sleeping wrong, it could be signs of further problems... If this continues to happen, cortisone shots can help. I have had 2 injections on my right hand for the ring finger, and within a week it helped. Granted i had the problem almost all day for a week or so.... If you get the finger open all the way and take some aspirin or other anti inflammatory, and move the finger.. it loosens things up and lessens the swelling.

Hope this helps. See a doc if it keeps up...

You use it or you loose it! Just keep a safe distance from anyone with a temper.

Actually, I'm sorry, I do find it funny when people injure their middle finger.

Go to the doctor straight away! Seriously, it's worth the money to keep your finger.

You need to have it x-ray'd. It might be broken or dislocated. The sooner you have it adressed the better. Otherwise you could end up with permanent damage. It also may be a problem with tendons or early rheumatoid arthritis.

Maybe you have a fracture. Check it with a Doc or clinic. Probably an x-ray will solve it.
