I am well into the process of obtaining a k1 visa to marry my American girlfriend in America (im British). The problem is that I have a minor criminal record that involves 'moral terpitude'. This may or may not prevent me from obtaining a visa. There is a waiver known as the i 601 which would allow me to enter as my girlfriend would suffer extreme hardship if she was forced to leave the States. What I would like to know is if anybody has any experience with this kind of visa waiver, or if they have been in my situation.

Hi, We went through the exact thing in 05, we had to file the I-601, if you go to the forum below, you can find out everything you need to know on it. We would have never got through the process without it. I am American and had to show extreme hardship, it worked, we got approved the next month after they received it , he flew to the States the next month and we were married within the 90 day limit. There will be some examples of approved hardship letters on this forum. Ours is one of them. Kevins_Bunny04 Best of luck to you .

It did not harm that via the time i began severe college my Dad had stop ingesting (He grow to be between the worst alcoholics I have ever considered) . mom grow to be nonetheless a soreness yet Dad and that i grew to grow to be best friends, So i wager my view of my severe college years is a touch biased. the college Dances were massive activities in a small city that had one action picture theater with purely one demonstrate screen, no quickly nutrition eating places and no branch shops. We did not get Rock stay shows coming interior one hundred fifty miles so i did not see my first stay live performance till I went away to varsity except you count number community bands playing on the Dances.

No Sorry, and I think you'll be lucky to get a satisfying answer regarding that, your best bet is to go here http://www.unitedstatesvisas.gov/contact.html and explain to them your situation and ask for some guidance. If you are refused, another option would be for both you and your girlfriend to go to a neutral country where she wouldn't suffer extreme hardship.
