This was a time in history when people were fairly promiscuous. Casanova seduced many women because he thought he loved each and every one of them at the time (he basically confused love with lust). He was known for being a romantic, and exceptionally passionate. When he felt that he loved a woman, and she refused him, he was relentless, he did whatever he could to gain her interest (including some questionable methods, threats, blackmail ect.) This was a time in history when marriages were generally arranged. Men were intimate with theirs wives for pro-creation reasons, then they went off to their mistresses. Women had their own affairs, but always longed for the fairytale romance, which he gave to them for a while. Basically, it's a long story, but he was different than most men of that time. He gave women what they wanted, and treated them as equals, which was highly unusual for that time period.

In Casanova's time seduction was very different from today's way of viewing seduction and the way of seducing women. The environment was much different, but he was acclaimed of being able to seduce women in a very traditional manner that could easily not work in today's environment.

Many women including the queen of that time wrote of his charm. He was witty and very smart. He was not like all the other men. He was honorable in all his intentions rather it was with a mistress or a lady of rank. He loved every thing there was about a woman. Of course in those times women were bartered for marrage for lands or money. Most women he was involved in were married women of high rank. Whom there husbands gave no consideration to at all. So these women kept him in the style he prefered. There are lots of books about him and can be check out online from your local libraray. Hope I help?
