I sincerely hope not, but from many questions and answers here on yahoo answers I see a trend in that direction.
I could read your question, but not as easily as normal English. If you hit a wrong key writing normal language one can still understand. Hitting the wrong key when you write "sms language" may prove fatal.

No I doubt it. How will the rest of the world understand what is being said or written. Everyone will have their own spelling for words and there is also the danger of misinterpretation. What you have written is just rubbish. It makes the writer look thick and lazy. Why complicate things that already work. There is nothing clever about this. Clever is being able to read and write properly.

Heaven forfend!
Text speak is a shorthand way of communication and should not be used to excuse or cover up poor educational standards as it seems to be doing currently.
Whilst it is possible to make yourself understood with this "shorthand" it is extremely tiring to read, can be subject to misinterpretation and is intrinsically ugly.
Language can be exquisitely beautiful, conveying more than just facts. Try to read good quality literature and you will begin to understand the pleasure that well used words can bring.
Best wishes.
