If you're a male, you don't have a whole lot going on in that area other than a few muscles and the lower section of your colon. You have to see if you think the pain is toward the outer layers (muscles) of your abdomen or if it's inside. I hate to tell you this, but with men, pain there is often easily cured with a good laxative, or an enema. If you aren't experiencing any bleeding, try one. Take a good purge. If the pain doesn't stop after that, see a doctor.

Women, on the other hand, have portions of their reproductive system in the lower left portion of their abdomen. Pain in that area could be the same as if she were a man, but it could be something like a cyst. If you're a woman and you still have the pain after a bowel movement, go to your local emergency department.

Your appendix is on the lower right side of the abdomen.

The appendix is in the RIGHT lower abdomen. Do you have other symptoms? Any digestion problems? diarrhea or lose of appetite? Are you a female? it could be mittelschmerz, a sharp pain in either side of lower abdomen indicating that you are ovulating. but since it is persistently on the left, it's hard to say unless you have other symptoms. if you have fever, it could be an infection, if you have the digestion problems i mentioned like diarrhea then it could be irritable bowel syndrome, but if that's the only symptom you've got, then i think you'll need to see a doc have a physical exam and maybe some imaging tests like pelvic ultrasound or CAT scan to see what's going on there inside and the doc can start treating you right away, :-)

This may suggest a possible problem with your appendix.
Try lifting your left leg, if this causes more pain- it is most probably your appendix.

Have you been doing exercises or running around or jumping around immediately after meals? This may cause problems with your appendix.

Consult a doctor immediately.

Dude ' How long has it been since you crapped. Clean yourself out with a good laxative. Drink lots of water with the laxative. If that doesn't work see a doctor.
