interested in and ruin their friendship, or just brush her off and hope she gets a clue? I didnt mean to ruin a friendship. They are just starting the rekindling the friendship and the friend has been competitive and jealous in the past. Is it my duty to tell the woman I'm interested in?

Their relationship has been rocky. Don't risk them having a fight over something stupid, and then her friend in spite exaggerating her claims about how you responded when she hit on you.

She obviously hasn't been a good friend to her in the past, so you need to let he know. You can always start off by asking her the same question "baby, if a friend of yours was hitting on me, would you want to know?"

If it was a best trusted friend who she'd been inseperable with for a decade, it might be different. Just don't risk it, show her YOU are trustworthy, and show her now!

Your lady friend likely knows what her friend is like. You said they are just "rekindling" the friendship, so I assume this was the end of the friendship in the past. Frankly, women like that are not friends to ANY woman, so I think you should tell the woman you are seeing that there seems to be some confusion on her friend's part as to which of them you were interested in. If she wants details, provide. If she doesn't want to hear it, then let it end there. No matter what you say, be sure you don't give the other woman ANY indication that you are interested, for she will surely run to tell your girl that you made a pass at her, or some such nonsense.

This is between you and the friend. I'd let the friend know in no uncertain terms that you are not interested in her, and ask the woman you are interested in for a date.

Tell her because it is in your head, not your duty, you don't have to say anything but its important to know who your real friends are or are not.
