Stressed scalp syndrome is frequently caused by hair abuse due to improper hair styling or staining, individual hypersensitivity to certain foods, personal care or hair care ingredients, insufficient hair rinsing after shampoo, rinsing with highly chlorinated or contaminated water. Psychological stress is another common cause of hair problems.

With any shampoo, it is essential to rinse the shampoo residuals from the scalp and hair roots. Even with diluted or true soap shampoos, intensive rinse is required to wash out the detergents from the hair. In fact, remaining detergents quite often are the primary cause of scalp irritation, seborrhea and hair loss. Concentrated shampoos and combined shampoo/conditioners make it very difficult to wash out the detergents. One may be well advised to avoid these products, if symptoms of scalp irritation or hair loss occur. In earlier days rain water was considered the best hair rinse. Today, distilled water is a good choice. Various types of skin and hair usually call for different herbal treatments to help improve hair conditions. At the same time herbal hair oils including Burdock root oil, Nettle oil, ointment Balmflower and hair rinse Floraderm I will work good for most types of hair. Used to treat dry scalp and dry hair conditions, these products are helpful if hair has become thin, straw-like, brittle, and split. They are also utilized to help combat hair loss. Herbal hair oils will promote hair recovery after intensive hair treatments, and help minimize hair loss due to chemotherapy or radiation therapy.

Make sure that you are getting plenty of Vitamin A and E in your diet. Sometimes vitamin deficiencys can cause very dry hair. Also make sure that you are drinking plenty of water every day as being chronically dehydrated can also affect it. If you can, get a check up and have your Dr. check for deficiencies and ask if there are any prescription cremes that they can give you. Sometimes very dry hair has underlying causes. If it's just damaged from chemicals and over-exposure to heat then you don't need to worry about the other things but the vitamins are still helpful as is horsetail root (an herb) for strong hair and nails. My favorite conditioner is Biolage, a little on the expensive side but it's a nice thick conditioner with a cinnamony smell that leaves my hair feeling silky smooth. Good Luck.

You need a conditioner treatment. You can do it yourself at home or you can go to a salon.

In order to do it at home i recommend you
use a moisturizing shampoo
shampoo your hair2-3 times to remove all the dirt
then apply a moisturizing conditioner
leave it on for at least 30 mins since your having problems with dryness
If possible put on a plastic cap & get under a preheated dryer
for 30 min
Then rinse of course

Products I recommend
~Paul Mitchell The Conditioner
~Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Shampoo
~Paul Mitchell Tea Tree

On a budget I recommend
Pantene 2 in 1 conditioner

You should really try an all natural conditioner...other conditioners have a bunch of crap in them that's not even good for your hair in the first place! Try this conditioner by Aubrey...you can find it at Trader Joes or Whole Foods if you have one nearby! If they don't carry it find it online! The letters on the bottle are green...it's awesome you'll love it and it'll really work! It's a lil' pricey but you should try it!

Conditioners should work. Try oil(i no everyone hates oil including me but it surely works) Try the shampoos for dry hair. Even though it takes a long time to cure it works.

first you have to understand why you have a dry hair. from there you can do some changes . maybe lifestyle eating habits. Conditioner will work also. but if you dont change the way to care your hair it will come again. always massage your scalp with coconut oils before shower.
Here are some tips for you, check this link.

If it is really dry you can get a hot oil treatment. But conditions will help if you leave it in your hair for about 15 minutes before rinsing it out.

i've got kinda dry hair so i use conditioners but just any that have got silky on them and they all seem to work and i also let my hair dry naturally else it goes all brittle. Also if i'm going to straighten it i use heat protection spray because that makes it really really soft!! good luck :) hope this helps :-)

Do some deep hair treatment every week and let it sit for more than a couple hours before washing off, it does help. Those apivita ones are very good, you could browse the info and comments here: http://beauty-tricks.com/index.php?option=com_facileforms&Itemid=&ff_name=ReviewList&ff_param_section=3&ff_param_cat=7&ff_param_limit=10&ff_param_order=SubmissionDateNew
