The same number that are there today 6 billion+. We are reincarnated from one life to another. So we all have been on the face of the earth since the beginning of time in one life form or another though. So basically the number has never changed.

The number that I have heard is that to reach a number, which is 6+ billion, an equal number must have lived before. Humans are quite prolific.
