The word is a misnomer. Maybe multiped would be better.
Centipedes can have from about 30 to about 350 or so feet, or legs, if you prefer.
Good luck finding one with exactly 100.

Normally centipedes have about 50 legs although there have been some which have had up to 200 legs.
